5/4 out of Nimes to a nice (but busy, it's Easter holidays!) campsite a 3km bike ride from the UNESCO listed Pont Du Gard, part of a grand 50km long aqueduct built by the Romans nearly 2000 yrs ago to deliver constant water under pressure to Nimes, and to show off! Everyone feeling better, good sleep despite the German teen activity nearby
6/4 Happy Birthday uncles Benno and Stevo!
after school and parental exercise (both took a sneaky peek at the Pont, Jen having palpitations, not over this virus yet) onto the bikes, through the vineyards
and past the old church in the field,
red poppies blooming reminding us of Anzac Day to come, up the steep hill, under the boom gate, down the hill, around the corner and there its is .......... majestic!

With storms around and some rain ventured into an amazing information centre with great interactive stuff for the kids and a highly informative centre discussing the history of the Pont, how it was built, how it functioned (didn't last more than a couple of centuries before each movement and tree root invasion stuffed it for human consumption, little did they know of the poison of the pipes at the end), spent a few hours learning how and why (it really was to some extent to show off) and then biked back to the campsite feeling fully satisfied with another great day in Europe.
